Vicious Biscuit is now open in Gonzales at 333 St. Christopher Ave., in Heritage Crossing. The fast-casual breakfast concept serves up bold biscuit creations like the flame thrower, made with crispy fried chicken tossed in Frank's Red Hot, white cheddar, Skully Sauce, Vicious candied bacon and cowboy candy on a cheddar jalapeño biscuit. Hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday though Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends.

White Light Night: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday in Mid City Baton Rouge

Mid City's largest arts festival is here again, featuring artists, makers, restaurant specials, music and more. Kick off your holiday shopping and revel under the white lights.

New food and drinks on the block

Ruby Slipper, 3535 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge, has a new Winter Wonderland menu -- a seasonal lineup featuring mint chocolate beignets, gingerbread eggnog pancakes and more.

Get into the holiday spirit with festive drinks at CC's Coffee House. Enjoy a cinnamon cookie latte, peppermint bark Mochasippi or eggnog cold brew through Dec. 31. CC's has multiple locations in Baton Rouge.

Carrabba's Italian Grill, 7275 Corporate Blvd., Baton Rouge, dropped new winter menu items and cocktails, like the merry berry martini, short rib marsala, triple chocolate bread pudding and more, available through Jan. 13.

Wine and spirits

Holiday cocktails: 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at The Tipsy Librarian, 7450 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge

Hop into the holiday spirit by learning how to make three festive cocktails: holiday spritz with tequila and rosé, cashmere slipper with cognac and spiced pear and pink squirrel. Tickets are $100 per person, available for purchase at thetipsylibrarian.com.

Thanksgiving festivities

Annual Thanksgiving buffet: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 28, at Houmas House, 40136 La. 942, Darrow

The Thanksgiving menu at Houmas House includes crawfish and corn bisque, garlic mashed potatoes, herb-crusted salmon with lemon cream, ham with cane syrup glaze, Tasso cornbread dressing, crawfish étouffée in pastry shells, a dessert display and more. Tickets are $95 for adults and $55 for children. Call (225) 473-9380 to make a reservation.

Thanksgiving at Tallulah: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 28, at Tallulah Crafted Food and Wine Bar inside Renaissance Hotel, 7000 Bluebonnet Blvd., Baton Rouge

Let someone else do the cooking this year. Join Tallulah for its Thanksgiving day buffet with all the fixings, like butternut squash soup, baked mac and cheese, miso glazed salmon, herb-crusted turkey, bourbon pecan pie, a crepe station and more.
