Owned and operated by AEG, the LA Kings began play in 1967. Initially playing in the Forum in Inglewood, the franchise soon established itself both on the ice, behind star players such as Rogie Vachon and Marcel Dionne, both Hall of Famers, and off the ice, where the Kings continue to strive for innovation in a constant pursuit of excellence with a first-class commitment to our fans and partners, and with an unmatched pledge to improving our community. In 1988, the Kings shocked the sports world with the acquisition of Wayne Gretzky and five years later the Kings advanced to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time. In 1999, the Kings built Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles, and they ultimately enjoyed their "crowning moments" earning the franchise's first two Stanley Cup championships in 2012 and 2014 respectively.
