Michigan defensive tackle Kenneth Grant, an All-Big Ten second-team selection this season, has declared for the NFL draft.
Grant joins fellow defensive tackle Mason Graham, cornerback Will Johnson, tight end Colston Loveland and running back Donovan Edwards as early departures.
He was the 10th-highest graded run defender (87.5) per Pro Football Focus, and has 32 tackles this season, including 6.5 for loss with three sacks and two fumble recoveries. Grant also set the career record for most pass breakups by a UM defensive lineman with 12, including one interception (five breakups in 2024).
One of Grant's most memorable plays came at Penn State in 2023 when he ran down running back Kaytron Allen and held him to a 34-yard run instead of a 75-yard touchdown.
"One of the best plays of the season, that play by Kenneth Grant," then-head coach Jim Harbaugh said of Grant's tackle. "Maybe one of the best plays ever. Compare it to the play Justin Smith made against the Eagles my first year coaching at the 49ers. It was a guardian-of-victory type of play. Only a sophomore. Tremendous."
