LOCAL COLLEGE: King's softball sweeps Lancaster Bible

King's softball extended its win streak to four, after sweeping Lancaster Bible in a doubleheader Thursday.

In game one, the Monarchs scored seven runs in the fourth inning to rally from a two-run deficit en route to a 8-4 victory. Meghan Marianelli drove in three runs in the victory, and Alyssa Fox had two RBIs. Paige Bergan added three hits, while Courtney Grogan improved to 2-2 in the circle, getting the victory in relief.

In game two, Fox doubled to center, scoring Breanna Goldspiel in the seventh, as King's walked off a 6-5 victory. Jess Perella drove in three, and Cadee Munjone added two RBIs. Bergen added another three hits in the victory. Madisyn vonFrisch picked up her third win, striking out six in relief.

East Stroudsburg 6, Wilkes 1: At Wilkes, East Stroudsburg took two of three in doubles play to earn the team point. Isabel Schreffler and Julia Spaeth won 6-4 at No. 3 doubles for the Colonels' lone win.

East Stroudsburg then took five of six in singles play to earn the non-conference road victory. Ava Vacula earned Wilkes' lone singles win over Maya Jackson 7-5, 6-2 at No. 6.
