The Golden State Warriors thrashed the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night. They walked away with a comfortable 120-97 win over Quin Snyder's group.
The Warriors roared out to a big first-half performance. They led the Hawks 67-42 at the break. Atlanta showed signs of life in the third quarter, but Golden State ultimately sealed the deal with a strong fourth.
Jonathan Kuminga came off the bench, once again, during this game. He finished with 10 points and six rebounds in his 15 minutes of playing time.
This prompted one reporter to question Warriors head coach Steve Kerr at the post-game press conference about how he determines the minutes for Kuminga. Kerr was open with his response.
"[I] just read the game and every game is gonna be different," Kerr told reporters. "We've got a very deep team. As we know, we're committed to playing 12 guys every night. We just find groups that click, and we stay with them. JK will be part of a lot of those."

This is now three straight games where Kuminga has played under 20 minutes for the Warriors. He is averaging 22.8 minutes during the 2024-25 NBA season overall.
Kuminga entered the year as a popular breakout candidate, but that has not happened so far. His numbers to start the year are actually down from last year's campaign in a handful of regards.
The fourth-year pro is averaging 13.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.9 assists while shooting 45.5 percent from the field and 31.9 percent from beyond the arc. Those are all lower than what he registered in the 2023-24 season.
Kuminga began the year as a starter before getting demoted to the bench. It will be worth monitoring what kind of role he can carve out for himself moving forward.
