Hudson will play Fairhaven in the Division 6 state championship game, a rematch of last year's state semifinal.
Attaway's biggest run was arguably his final one. Facing a third and 1, Hudson needed a first down to milk the clock down to zeroes.
Attaway took the snap and plowed forward for 2 yards and a first down.
Tyrese Meuse recovered a Norwell fumble early in the game. Hudson then went quickly down the field to score the game's first touchdown.
"The running back tried to hit me, but I grabbed the ball" said Meuse. "I felt great about it."
Meuse's brother Treson scored from 3-yards out to take an early 7-0 lead.
Hudson stayed patient, took what the Norwell defense was giving to them, and put together a methodical drive before halftime.
The drive ended on a 1-yard quarterback sneak by Attaway.
"We knew we'd be able to pound it" said Attaway. "The line was unbelievable."
With under four minutes left in the third quarter, Norwell scored its first touchdown. Sophomore quarterback Jack Luccarelli scampered for 27 yards, setting up his own 2-yard touchdown run.
After a facemask penalty gave Hudson new life, Attaway finished another drive off with a quarterback sneak for a touchdown to extend the lead to 21-7.
Luccarelli led the Clippers down the field again and was able to cut the deficit to 7 points after finding Cole Maguire for a 6-yard touchdown.
Hudson got the ball back with under four minutes to go. Norwell had only one timeout remaining and the Hudson ground attack led by Attaway was able to close out the game.
"We had to get gritty and win between the tackles today" said Hudson head coach Zac Attaway.
