Rapper and entrepreneur Snoop Dogg visited TODAY Oct. 17 and dropped some advice on being a grandfather to seven "grandbabies."
While tackling some "Social Dilemmas" with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, the rapper replied to a grandparents' dilemma about hearing from their son, Jack, that they're not being strict enough with the grandchildren.
"Well, I am a grandfather so Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack when the parents are out of town, the kids can do whatever they want to do with grandpa and grandma," replied the rapper.
The newest host of "The Voice" believes that it's more than OK for grandparents to to spoil the grandchildren as a way to create a long-lasting bond.
"So grandma, grandpa, keep bending the rules for your grandbabies because they're going to love you forever, they're going to always share secrets with you and they're going to feel like they have a safe space with you," Snoop said.
"Let the parents keep being those mean, wall-putting up barriers," Snoop added. "You don't have any barriers; you're grandma and grandpa!"
When Jenna asked the rapper if that's his way of treating his seven grandchildren, Snoop eagerly replied, "They know I got a bowl of candy when they come over. I got video games; I got whatever they want."
"Papa Snoop," as he's known by his seven grandkids, said that he is the type of grandfather to let the kids get away with anything.
"Whatever your parents won't let you do, 'come over here,'" the rapper joked about his grandparenting style. "You can eat candy, you can watch TV late night ... I'm the 'can can' man."
Another way Snoop spoils his grandkids is by dressing up in costume for their themed birthday parties. The other perk of wearing a costume? He gets to avoid talking to other parents at the parties, he confided with Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show."
