Watch Corgi's Incredible Reaction to Getting His Own Holiday Advent Calendar

A Pembroke Welsh corgi named Hudson has tugged at the heartstrings of viewers online, thanks to a video showcasing his exuberant reaction to receiving holiday Advent calendars.

Heather Kerrison, Hudson's aunt and "manager," shared the clip to Instagram under @hudsonthefluffycorgi on October 9. The post, which features clips of Hudson reacting joyfully to different holiday Advent calendars over the years has been liked more than 1.3 million times to date, sparking delight among viewers online.

"Hudson is the beloved 'child' of my twin sister, and I have run his account for the past eight years," Kerrison, who is based in Toronto, Canada, told Newsweek. "Hudson was my 'in' to digital marketing, and his account has grown to bring joy to people all around the world."

Kerrison now runs her own marketing agency, Wild Media Co., but dedicates significant time to curating content for Hudson's account. The eight-year-old corgi's signature fluffiness comes from a recessive gene, making him stand out online even among his breed.

"His bio says he's 'spreading fluffy joy' to the masses, and that's exactly what he does," Kerrison added.

Viewers on Instagram were able to see Hudson gleefully jumping and wagging his tail with excitement as he receives the Advent calendars year after year, while an overlaid text on the video read, "every year we get our dog an Advent calendar."

Hudson's yearly Advent calendar tradition aligns with Kerrison's broader mission for his social media account to spread happiness.

"For the past few years, we have filmed Hudson opening a door every day for 24 days," Kerrison said. "People from around the world absolutely adore it and look forward to it all year long."

Instagram users have shared their delight at the short clip, with many expressing their amusement in the comments.

"Bro thinks life is just giggles and rainbows doesn't he," one viewer said.

Another added: "Hopping Hudson!!!! My favorite Christmas tradition!!"

"It's incredible to connect with so many people in such a positive way, especially during this time of year," Kerrison said. "The joy Hudson brings to people is a reminder of the simple pleasures in life."

The family's Advent calendar tradition not only showcases Hudson's charm, but also highlights the growing trend of pet-centric holiday celebrations. From Advent calendars filled with treats and toys, to custom festive outfits, pets like Hudson are increasingly treated as integral members of the family at Christmas time.

Hudson's global following continues to expand, and according to Kerrison, Antarctica is the only continent without a follower -- yet.

"We love connecting with so many people, and Hudson makes it all possible," she said. "Every time we share his excitement, it brings people together.

"That's the magic of Hudson."
