New Peruvian Restaurant Brings Bold Flavors, Family Feel To Watervliet

Quechua Peruvian Restaurant, located at 1297 Broadway in Watervliet, celebrated its grand opening on Thursday, March 20.

Under the direction of husband-and-wife owners Edith and Oscar Geronimo-who also run Greenbush Salsa Latina-the eatery bills itself as a celebration of classic Peruvian cuisine with vibrant nods to Japanese, Spanish, and Italian influences.

With more than 20 years in the restaurant industry, the Geronimos are bringing the rich, diverse flavors of Peru to Watervliet in a setting that feels more like a family dinner than a formal night out.

"At Quechua Peruvian Restaurant, we use only fresh, high-quality ingredients, crafting every dish in-house without artificial preservatives," they state on their website. "More than just a meal, dining with us is a family experience."

Diners are welcomed in to the aromas of citrus-marinated fish, slow-cooked pork, and perfectly stir-fried sirloin.

Menu highlights include:

Just days into business, Quechua is earning plenty of praise from foodies:
