Forge Greensboro sets $350,000 fund-raising campaign goal for 2025

Forge Greensboro has launched its 2025 fundraising campaign with a goal of $350,000, of which $150,000 already has been committed.

That includes $75,000 from an economic development services partnership through the city of Greensboro and $67,750 of remaining federal America Rescue Plan Act funding through Guilford County.

Forge Greensboro focuses on workforce development, youth engagement in STEM, and entrepreneurship for underserved populations.

Funds raised will support the following core initiatives:

* $125,000 to provide 200 scholarships for entrepreneurs, jobseekers, students, educators and veterans, ensuring equitable access to the tools, technology and training available from the nonprofit.

* $125,000 to expand the range of adult and youth classes, workshops and certifications "to meet a surge in demand from community members seeking skills for career and personal development."

* $100,000 to support skilled mentors and instructors who volunteer their time to teach essential skills and advanced techniques, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

"This early support from our city and county partners is a powerful vote of confidence in Forge Greensboro's mission to create economic opportunity and empower makers in our community," said Tiffany Jacobs, the nonprofit's executive director.

Forge Greensboro currently assists in workforce development support for at least 300 individuals, youth engagement for 400 students in hands-on STEM learning, and direct support for 75 entrepreneurs growing their businesses.
