Introducing the 2024 Post-Tribune Girls Soccer All-Area Team

Ava Haluska is one of three Crown Point players on the first team, which also includes two Valparaiso players and two Lake Central players.

Ryann Adzia, Crown Point, senior, defender: Had one goal and two assists for Class 3A sectional champion and anchored defense that allowed 0.41 goals per game and posted 12 shutouts. All-state second team, all-district first team, all-conference.

Adey Avey, Chesterton, junior, forward: Had 17 goals and two assists. All-state third team, all-district first team.

Kiara Desiderio, Hanover Central, senior, midfielder: Had 83 goals and nine assists for Class 2A regional champion. All-state third team, all-district first team, all-conference.

Beatrice Douglas-Arnold, Valparaiso, senior, defender: Had four goals and three assists for Class 3A sectional champion and helped anchored defense that allowed 0.90 goals per game and posted 12 shutouts. All-state second team, all-district first team, all-conference.

Ava Haluska, Crown Point, senior, midfielder: Had five goals and nine assists for Class 3A sectional champion. Conference MVP.

Gabriela Maldonado, Munster, senior, midfielder: Had seven goals and eight assists. All-state third team, all-district first team, all-conference.

Olivia Pelot, Lake Central, senior, goalkeeper: Had a 0.41 goals-against average and nine shutouts. All-state third team, all-district first team, all-conference.

Hannah Pesich, Crown Point, junior, forward: Had 15 goals and five assists for Class 3A sectional champion. All-district second team, all-conference.

Katherine Robinson, Highland, senior, defender: Anchored defense that posted eight shutouts for Class 2A sectional champion. All-district second team.

Malia Silvers, Lake Central, senior, defender: Had two goals and anchored defense that allowed 0.59 goals per game and posted nine shutouts. All-district first team, all-conference.

Addison Wieser, Valparaiso, senior, defender: Helped anchor defense that allowed 0.90 goals per game and posted 12 shutouts for Class 3A sectional champion. All-state honorable mention, all-district first team, all-conference.

Claire Brown, Valparaiso, senior, forward/midfielder: Had four goals and three assists for Class 3A sectional champion. All-district second team, all-conference.

Sam Bultema, Illiana Christian, senior, forward: Had 22 goals and three assists. All-conference.

Grace Christos, Wheeler, senior, midfielder: Had 12 goals and 14 assists for Class 1A sectional champion. All-conference.

Reagan Claus, Lowell, senior, goalkeeper: Had three shutouts for team that allowed 1.63 goals per game. All-conference.

Piper Ellenberger, Hobart, senior, forward: Had 31 goals and 10 assists. All-district second team, all-conference.

Mali Kennedy, Portage, freshman, forward: Had 20 goals and 16 assists. All-conference.

Sam Kraus, Hanover Central, senior, midfielder: Had eight goals and two assists for Class 2A regional champion. All-district second team, all-conference.

Maya Maldonado, Munster, junior, forward: Had 11 goals and five assists. All-district second team, all-conference.

Eva Montes, Chesterton, junior, forward: Had nine goals and two assists. All-district second team, all-conference.

Layla Nestor, Hanover Central, sophomore, goalkeeper: Had a 1.22 goals-against average and eight shutouts for Class 2A regional champion. All-conference.

Leah Rocha, Lake Central, senior, midfielder: Had 11 goals and four assists. All-district second team, all-conference.
