Pulido, who has released Tejano chart-toppers like "Desvelado" and "Se Murió De Amor" throughout his decades-long career, said Thursday that he would embark on a final "farewell" tour next year before running for office in 2026.

"All good things must come to an end," the Rio Grande Valley star says through tears in a video posted to social media. "Today, I'm announcing my farewell tour for next year. It's not a decision I have hastily made. I've given it a lot of thought. I feel like my life has come full circle."
Although Pulido didn't say what office he's eyeing or which political party he'll represent, the Tejano musician notably showed his support for Democrat Beto O'Rourke during his 2018 bid to unseat Republican Sen. Ted Cruz.

On Election Day this month, Cruz retained his seat by defeating state Rep. Colin Allred.
During his statement Thursday, Pulido explained that public office and helping his community have always been points of interest for him.
"Growing up, public service always intrigued me. I was a Texas Boys Stater in high school and studied political sciences because it was a passion of mine," he says in the video. "In 2026, I will be running for office in an attempt to fulfill my lifelong dream: to serve my people."
