Just ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, San Antonio drivers will have to endure another round of highway closures. However, there is good news on the horizon. The Texas Department of Transportation says this will be the last weekend closure of 2024. For one last time this year, drivers will have to deal with Loop 1604 construction closures.
From now until Monday, November 25 the following closures are underway:
TxDOT says these closures allow crews to install steel beams and continue the construction of the flyover ramps at the interchange. The transportation department says steel beam work is currently 80% complete with 120 beams in place. The first flyover ramp is scheduled to open by the end of the year, connecting drivers from eastbound Loop 1604 to westbound I-10.
Access to businesses around the construction areas will remain open. TxDOT says the closures will stay in place, weather permitting. Make sure to visit the MySA traffic page for the latest transportation news including, traffic delays and construction projects around San Antonio.
