Dangerous Southern California pursuit that ended in wild crash nets 3 arrests: CHP

A high-speed pursuit through West L.A. ended with a violent crash into a home Saturday night, and a new update from police indicates that three people involved were arrested and a firearm was recovered.

Preliminary information indicates that CHP officers initiated a pursuit on the northbound span of the 405 Freeway near the Sepulveda Boulevard exit around 9:45 p.m. after the driver of the vehicle, a burgundy Dodge Durango, failed to yield.

According to a CHP spokesperson, the pursuit began when officers observed the SUV driving on the shoulder of the freeway.

The driver then exited the freeway before turning around and going south on the 405, eventually exiting at Culver Boulevard in Culver City.

Shortly after exiting the freeway, the SUV crashed into a guardrail and into a home.

One passenger spoke to news stringer service OnSceneTV moments after the collision and said he "thought he was going to die."

"It was like 'boom, boom, boom,' and after the first hit, I was f -- ked up...I got blood on my hands still," the man said.

The nature of their charges is unclear, and their identities have not been released.

An inspection of the house led to it being red-tagged, meaning it is no longer safe to occupy.
