KPMG is set to make $100m investment in its Google Cloud partnership to bolster artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, and cybersecurity services.
This strategic move is projected to generate an additional $1bn in growth for KPMG.
The two companies will collaborate on new solutions to help clients complex business challenges while focusing on data modernisation.
The collaboration aims to drive enterprise adoption of AI and modernise data handling across various industries, with a focus on consumer and retail, healthcare, and financial services sectors.
To support this initiative, KPMG will increase its Google Cloud and gen AI certifications. It will also provide access to Google training and certifications across the entire organisation.
Over the last two years, KPMG's Google Cloud practice bookings have surged tenfold, leading to the establishment of a Google Cloud Center of Excellence in April 2024.
This centre is designed to streamline product development, industry expertise, and technical resources for enterprise clients.
KPMG artificial intelligence and digital innovation vice chair Steve Chase said: "By tailoring solutions to the specific customers, business models and workflows of each industry, KPMG and Google Cloud will empower our clients to fully leverage AI and drive value across their enterprises.
"Integrating KPMG's deep industry, data and AI expertise with Google Cloud's cutting-edge AI technology is a powerful combination that has boosted our clients' market advantage, and this expansion will scale the impact we deliver for clients."
KPMG has already seen success with the internal deployment of Vertex AI Search, which has improved data connectivity and analysis within the firm.
Leveraging this experience, KPMG is developing advanced GenAI agents for clients to enhance knowledge assistance and data management.
These AI agents, created with Vertex AI and based on retrieval augmented generation techniques, are intended to maximise the value of data across different cloud providers.
The expanded alliance will concentrate on several initiatives, including the integration of Vertex AI and Gemini models into financial services to streamline operations like fraud detection and commercial lending.
KPMG is joining Google's SecOps programme to offer clients advanced cybersecurity solutions based on Google Cloud's security suite.
Google Cloud global revenue president Matt Renner said: "Through this next phase of our partnership, KPMG will help rapidly accelerate generative AI adoption by providing customers with the solutions, expertise, and technical resources needed to maximize potential from this powerful technology."
