Apple Now Lets All Verified Businesses Manage Their Identity in Maps, Mail, and Wallet

Apple is now allowing all verified organizations, including those without a retail presence to manage how they appear in Apple Maps, Apple Wallet, and the iOS Mail and Phone apps. All businesses can manage their brand presence for free via Apple Business Connect, the company's online portal that already let brick-and-mortar shops customize the way their information appears across Apple apps.

"We're excited to offer all businesses -- including those without a physical location -- the ability to create a brand that appears across the Apple apps that over a billion people use every day," said David Dorn, Apple's senior director of Internet Software and Services Product. "We designed Business Connect to empower businesses to present the best, most accurate information to Apple users.

To register for Apple Business Connect, organizations will need to use an existing Apple account or create a new one. Businesses can now sign up for Branded Mail to set up the brand name and logo that will appear in their emails to customers later this year. They can also customize their logo in Tap to Pay on iPhone.

"Next year, businesses will also be able to register for Business Caller ID. Their name, logo, and department appear on the inbound call screen when they contact customers, helping to distinguish verified businesses from spam callers and other unwanted outreach," Apple said yesterday.
