Lions trounce Jaguars, 52-6

The Detroit Lions cruised to their ninth win of the season on Sunday, easily disposing of the Jacksonville Jaguars at Ford Field, 52-6.

The Lions scored a touchdown on seven consecutive offensive drives, the first time a team has done so since the 2007 New England Patriots did it against the Buffalo Bills.

It was another drubbing of an AFC South team, as the Lions defeated the Tennessee Titans 52-14 in Week 8.

It was a big day for the Lions, as they tallied 38 first downs, 644 total yards on offense, and averaged 8.5 yards per play on offense. They also forced a turnover and only allowed the Jaguars offense to put up 170 yards for the entire game.

Quarterback Jared Goff bounced back after throwing five interceptions against the Houston Texans last week, completing 24-of-29 passes for 412 yards and four touchdowns. He finished with a perfect quarterback rating of 158.3.

Running backs David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs had big days as well on the ground, combining for 26 carries for 144 yards and three touchdowns. Montgomery had 15 carries for 75 yards and two touchdowns and added three catches for 20 yards. Gibbs had 11 carries for 69 yards and a touchdown and added one catch for 54 yards.

Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown had his best game so far this season, hauling in all 11 targets for 161 yards and two touchdowns against the Jaguars. Teammate Jameson Williams also had a big day, snagging four catches for 124 yards and a touchdown.

Williams' score came from 64 yards out in the second half.

Most of the starters were out of the game by the fourth quarter, as the game was already well in hand by halftime.

The Lions set single-game franchise records on Sunday in margin of win (+46), total net yards (644) and total first downs (38).

The ninth win also means another winning season for the Lions, who have produced three consecutive winning seasons for the first time since 1993-1995. Dan Campbell's 30 wins over the last three seasons is the most of any three-season span in franchise history, according to the team.

Detroit now has an eight-game winning streak, the longest streak seen by the franchise since 1934.

The Lions (9-1) will next take on the Indianapolis Colts (5-6) at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday.
