First Baptist Little Rock is celebrating its bicentennial Sunday, thanking God for 200 years of life and looking forward to the century that lies ahead.
Friends from around the country have been invited to attend, and organizers are expecting a large crowd.
There'll be a "morning mingle" from 8:30 to 10 a.m., an opportunity to enjoy breakfast, view 15 historical displays and reconnect with old friends.
Mark Howell, who served as pastor from 2001 to 2005, will preach the bicentennial sermon during the 10:15 a.m. service.
The congregation will also highlight Connect Church, a mission on Tyler Street that it has planted and nourished over the past three years. Moving forward, Connect Church will now be an autonomous congregation.
Afterward, there'll be a free luncheon on the grounds, featuring all-you-can-eat catfish, chicken and shrimp, followed by an open house from 1-2 p.m.
