The U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism is proud to recognize and congratulate two standout pupils, Rachel Guzman Ramirez and Tyler Ian Antonio Chung, who were named winners of the 2024 FCCA Essay Contest.
The contest, an annual writing competition open to primary and secondary school students, invites youth from throughout the Caribbean to submit essays on topics related to sustainable cruise tourism and the role their country can play in it.
On November 19, the Department of Tourism in collaboration with the Department of Education and Lockhart Elementary leadership will host an awards ceremony to celebrate the prodigious accomplishment of Rachel, 1 place winner of the Senior Division, and Tyler, 2 place winner of the Junior Division.
"It is with great pride that we celebrate the educational excellence and prowess of our local youth, and the continued partnership from throughout the tourism industry that presents unique and indelible opportunities for the entire U.S. Virgin Islands," shares Commissioner Joseph Boschulte.
