SUMMERFIELD -- The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office has charged a local man with statutory rape of a child under age 15, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
Justin Gray Jackson,38, of 6883 NC Hwy 65, was arrested after an investigation by the sheriff's Criminal Investigations Division into a reported statutory rape and consideration of DNA evidence, the release said.
The sheriff's office did not say when or where the alleged crime took place.
Already an inmate at the Stokes County Jail on unrelated charges, Jackson was served with the rape charge by the Stokes County Sheriff's Office and has received an additional $500,000 secured bond, the release said.
Rockingham County authorities did not release the identity of the victim.
